In 2016 Brian Conyer raised $1,000,000 in seed stage capital to fund his most recent tech startup venture; Giblib. Giblib is an online platform where surgeons can share medical lectures and surgical videos with one another. A former Executive Director of Connect-A-Kid, a non-profit mentorship program, Brian will be talking about his experience building a tech company using Virtual Reality for the Medical Industry.
Christian Erol represents the modern age entrepreneur; he's extremely curious, technically skilled, and has a strong hustle that makes him want to build great tech products. In 2016, as an undergraduate at Cal State LA he and his team won 3rd place in The Business Pitch Competition and since graduating, Christian has gone off to build his next venture FutureFest. FutureFest is a Virtual Reality platform for music junkies and musicians looking to showcase their music through an virtually immersive concert experience.
Angelica “Labrynia Alamonde” Conde is a first-generation multi-media artist born, raised, educated, and living in Los Angeles. Currently attending California State University, Los Angeles majoring in Animation with a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality studies; Angelica specializes in experimental animation, imagery, video editing and is always keen on thinking critically about the intent of one’s artwork and the audience it reaches. Most recently, Angelica and colleagues Megan Reynolds and Ilan Conrado have developed a Virtual Reality game at Cal State LA that puts the players in the shoes of a first-generation student.
Ilan Conrado is a animation student at Cal State L.A., freelance artist, and independent contractor working with the start-up research foundation, Embodied Reality. Ilan specializes in 2D and experimental animation and is currently working on his undergraduate thesis and applying to graduate school for an M.F.A in animation. His work focuses on LGBT issues, mental illness, and the intersections of these topics with capitalism. Ilan has had work exhibited in the Luckman gallery and the Fine Arts Gallery at Cal State L.A. Most recently, Illan and colleagues Megan Reynolds and Angelica Conde have developed a Virtual Reality game at Cal State LA that puts the players in the shoes of a first-generation student.
